DO YOU ENJOY SINGING? New choir members are always welcome. We do not hold auditions, and you are invited to sing with the choir for a few evenings. The fees will be payable only if you decide to join us.
For further details, please contact our Membership Secretary, Ingrid Hardiman.
We sing a wide variety of music, including lesser-known works, as well as the standard choral repertoire. For more details, please visit our Concert Archive page. Rehearsals take place from September to July, except during Christmas and Easter breaks, on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Christ Church, Bear Street, Barnstaple EX32 7BU.
On concert days, we rehearse from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the venue. There will be a small charge for hiring scores. Alternatively, you may wish to purchase your own vocal score, which can be arranged, with occasional discounts available for bulk orders. Members’ subscriptions are set at £135 for the year 2024/2025
Any difficulties in meeting fees can be discussed in complete confidence with the Treasurer. We believe that all singers, especially new members, will benefit most if they join us at the start of a term, as each rehearsal counts for best concert standards.
If, for any reason, you want to join after the mid-way point of the term (usually six of a possible 12 rehearsals), please be aware that hired music may no longer be available and that the fundamental learning phase will have passed.
In this case, it might be best to wait until the following/new term to join us. However, you would still be most welcome to attend a few rehearsals to try us out informally.
